WordPress Web Designers & Developers
Why do we design websites using the WordPress CMS platform?
We honestly did not start off as Atlanta Web Designers. WordPress originally was not our choice platform for website development. Prior to WordPress we designed and developed typical static websites using standard HTML and CSS. At that time our primary tool for web design was Adobe Dreamweaver.
Our very first content management system was actually Joomla in 2009. We were blown away by content management systems so much so that we started using it for web development. Although Joomla was a really good alternative there seemed to be a huge learning curve for our clients to make even simplest of changes and updating the software was slightly complicated. It didn’t take us long to find out that Joomla CMS wasn’t very secure at that time. Things may have changed by now but we are very happy where we are at with WordPress.
WordPress was released on May 27, 2003, by its founders, Matt Mullenweg and Mike Little. WordPress is an open-source content management system (CMS) based on PHP and MySQL very much like Joomla. We only discovered WordPress in 2010 when approached by client wanting a business directory website built using WordPress.
(Worth mentioning is that when we are talking about WordPress we are referring to WordPress.org not WordPress.com. With WordPress.org, YOU host your own website by downloading the software and installing on your own web server.)
Discovering WordPress opened an entirely new door for us and before we knew it, we were being bombarded with WordPress website requests therefore adding it to our services. We quickly became known as WordPress Web Designers in Atlanta. It quickly became obvious that WordPress was growing in leaps and bounds and excelling in every aspect possible. We are only too thrilled to be a part of that growth.
Very quickly we noticed that the sites we created using WordPress were doing far better then the other platforms we used in the search engine results due in partly to the many WordPress SEO plugins and tools that help you optimize your website. It wasn’t long after that we made WordPress our niche and no longer designed websites with any other platform than WordPress. This allowed us to focus on WordPress alone so we could be Experts in our niche.
We have spent the last 7 years fine tuning our skills and concentrating on learning everything WordPress so we could be not just good but totally “Awesome”! Since then we have grown and expanded our services from not only WordPress Web Design but to now providing complete WordPress Maintenance, WordPress Hosting and WordPress SEO Services.
So that sums up as to why we use WordPress as our platform. We absolutely LOVE WordPress!
