WordCamp Atlanta was just as awesome as it always was this year. Kathy Drewien and all the volunteers made this event successful. Every year we look forward to this great event, it is part of the greater WordPress Community. There are sessions for every level from beginners to developers. In the event you were unable to attend, check out WordPress TV for some of the tracks.
I have to say the highlight of this year’s WordCamp for us was meeting Troy Dean from WP Elevation. As members of the World’s Largest Business Community for WordPress Consultants, it was truly a pleasure seeing him in person and thanking him personally. Troy’s keynote topic for WordCamp Atlanta was Seven Figures from Scratch: How Troy used the Internet (and WordPress) to build a seven-figure a year business with no money in the bank. He touched on several topics including freelancing, client services, online courses & the importance of building communities. It is such an honor being part of such a knowledgeable and resource rich community.
Sam and I divided up so we could take in as many sessions possible. The one thing is for sure, we always walk away with great tips and tools from WordCamp weekends. Our plan is to try and attend many more WordCamps nationally, other than the WordCamp Atlanta going forward. The WordPress Atlanta community is so huge the possibilities are endless. We are blessed to be a part of the Atlanta Web Design community.
