Sam and I had the wonderful opportunity to make a business trip to Houston. We however did not let that keep us from enjoying some of the attractions and food of course. Although I lived there many moons ago, I forgot how much I loved Texas.
The sunsets are absolutely gorgeous. This would totally explain why they call the beautiful bridge in Baymont the Rainbow Bridge (Initially named the Port Arthur–Orange Bridge). Crossing the bridge, we visited the Battleship Texas State Historic Site. The Battleship Texas took part in some of the most significant naval battles of the 20th century during both world wars. Now docked along the Houston Ship Channel, she serves as a memorial to those turbulent times.
Afterwards, we enjoyed a relaxing dinner at the Monument Inn, with a view of the ship channel. We had such a great view from their second-story window of the Houston Ship Channel where international ships are always sailing into or out of this port.
Sam and I both were truly impressed by the hospitality and friendly folks. Looking forward to visiting again!
